Recently, one of our guests shared words that capture the heart of Ames Romero House:
“I’m grateful that the Romero House doesn’t judge us but instead helps us get to where we need to be.”
Those simple words remind us why we exist. Our mission has never been merely to provide meals, showers, or laundry. We exist to accompany our neighbors through some of the most difficult moments of their lives; to walk beside them with compassion, dignity, and hope.
That journey begins with trust.
Trust is built through everyday acts of radical hospitality, but it also grows through strong partnerships. No single organization can meet every need facing those experiencing homelessness, mental illness, addiction, or extreme poverty. Lasting change happens when our
community works together.

Each season, we gather your generous clothing donations and dedicate a special day to share
them with our community. Our clothing donation room in the Orange House allows us to
regularly provide clothing to those in need.
On a beautiful June afternoon, we set up tables in the backyard, inviting guests to select what
they needed—t-shirts, shorts, stockings, underwear, sandals, and other essential summer items.
Empowering our guests to choose restores a sense of dignity for those who arrive with very little.

In this newsletter, we celebrate the remarkable individuals who make our mission possible. Our dedicated volunteers, generous donors, committed staff, and the entire community come together to uplift the lives of those around us. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we stand firm in the face of challenges, knowing His presence blesses and inspires everything we do. We are excited to share images of our community in action, serving those experiencing material and spiritual hardships, and the solidarity inspired by acts of kindness and compassion.
